Tabitha Fink and the Patchwork Pirates Winner at the 5th Annual Pacific Book Awards

Pirates Book Hero Pacific Book(Natick, MA) – This week the 5th Annual Pacific Book Awards recognized Tabitha Fink and the Patchwork Pirates by Rick Felty of Natick as the 2018 Winner Best Children’s Picture Book 5 and Younger.

The Pacific Book Award judges recognize winning books that demonstrate a wide scope of criteria that makes for an excellent overall presentation. Pacific Book Review is the recipient of the “Honoring Excellence” and “Best Websites for Authors” awards by the Association of Independent Authors, and is a member of the National Book Critics Circle and the National Education Association.

Tabitha Fink and the Patchwork Pirates is the latest in the Tabitha Fink children’s picture book series, written and illustrated for early readers. Tabitha Fink is a cat with one eye who loves to explore. Her adventures teach children about self-esteem as well as self-confidence when confronting new and unfamiliar situations.

“This was a really fun book to create,” said Felty. “It was important for me to tell a story that helps children understand the value of diversity as well as the importance of not judging others by their outward appearance. And it’s fun to write about pirates!”
